This is another busy and interesting month astrologically. Last month there was a Grand Sextile, which doesn't occur that often, and this month we have a Grand Square a.k.a. Grand Cross which is embedded in yet another Grand Sextile, even though the aspects making it such are a bit wide. With the planets all connecting with one another in so many ways there is bound to be enough energy transfer for it to be viable, which it already is if you use medieval orbs. In years past, before accurate ephemerides or computers, astrologers allowed a more liberal distance from exactitude of aspects.

The New Moon on August 6 is in Leo, your 2nd house of income, finances, possession, needs and pleasures which should bring something new your way in that part of your life. Thanks to a trine to Uranus in your 10th house, this could come out of the blue and perhaps relate to your career or status in some way, either in the form of some favorable public attention or maybe even a bonus or promotion that brings a raise.

That Grand Water Trine is still in effect but not for much longer. Jupiter is gradually moving on and becoming a bit fickle as he becomes part of a less easy flowing aspect pattern I'll get to in a moment. You will be caught in the middle of all this if your birthday is right around July 1 in which case Jupiter is conjunct your Natal Sun. This can be very lucky all around, especially with Jupiter in the sign of his exaltation. Saturn went direct the first week of July which brought a new energy to this cosmic pattern. Saturn is in Scorpio, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. While retrograde, which was the case for several months, it often feels as if you're stuck in the mud. Everything seems to move at a snail's pace and obstacles and boundaries bear flashing red lights. Once direct, however, it's time to put on your work clothes and get busy rebuilding something. In your case it will lie in your 5th house so give it some thought and figure out what the Universe's message is for you.

It's worth noting that the Grand Trine falls in your 1st, 5th and 9th houses which are known as the Life houses. These are the areas where the real you find expression through your personality, ego and creative expression as well as your belief system and how you interact with the world at large. There's been an easy flow of energy between them which is about to gradually dissolve so it's in your best interest to figure out what it was trying to say. Neptune in your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, politics, religion, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation could have brought some inspiration your way relative to one or more of those areas. Embracing that lesson, whatever it may be, into your personality will bring rewards and luck which can be manifested through your creativity and self-expression. This has been a very important time for Water signs as far as getting to know yourself better and finding your place in the world.

This month, however, a new aspect pattern is evolving based on the Uranus - Pluto square which has been in effect for quite a while. This is where Jupiter becomes a bit fickle as he opposes Pluto and squares Uranus, forming a T-square which typically represents tension and decision points. This could be where you have to decide what to do with the insights and new understanding the Grand Trine delivered. Those of you born July 1, give or take a day, are currently undergoing a Pluto opposition. This is often a difficult transit which can last approximately three years. Pluto is in Capricorn, your 7th house of relationships and the implications are that this part of your life will be transformed. Anyone who no longer serves a useful purpose in your life will be eliminated and those that remain will probably be on a different level. You're an emotional, naturally caring person at the core and perhaps you've allowed some people who simply aren't worth it into your life. This is when you'll probably give them the boot.

You may also encounter people on power trips who want to control you or perhaps confront those who have done so in the past. This is where the square with Uranus comes in which may give you the incentive to break free at last. Uranus is in Aries, a very independent sign, and is the planet of freedom and rebellion as well as breakthroughs, uniqueness, surprises, disturbances and all things unconventional. Aries is your 10th house which includes your career, reputation, public image and status. Status covers a lot of ground, including just about anything you might post on Facebook, find in the newspaper or public record. Thus, combining these influences suggests you may be seen in a unique, unconventional or even rebellious way as you assert yourself in new ways. Mars is in your sign until the end of the month. Cancer is the sign of his fall where he can sometimes manifest as a temper tantrum or get so tangled up in emotion he takes either impulsive action or swims in circles. Mars, however, has been receiving some help from Venus to bring an opportunity you way in the form of an idea though it may also involve a sibling or neighbor or even a local trip. Venus is in the sign of her fall in Virgo, however, so we have to planets in detriment trying to help each other out, perhaps the blind leading the blind. Nonetheless, whatever comes your way is worth considering, even though you may be overwhelmed by detail or emotion in the process. On the positive side, Venus could represent a sibling or neighbor who helps you figure out what's going on and help you define the appropriat3e action to take in your particular circumstances.

The Full Moon on August 20 is in Aquarius, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, things you suppress and intense experiences. This type of lunation usually brings a culmination, ending or shift to a new phase. If this sounds familiar it's because last month's Full Moon was also in Aquarius, making this what some consider a Blue Moon as the second Full Moon in a given month. If your birthday is right around July 21 then you may find yourself changing direction at this time though the potential is there for all Crabs. By this time the Grand Trine is gone except for the trine between Saturn and Neptune. The T-square is still there as well so all those influences continue. Mercury is conjunct the Sun which suggests emphasis and information related to your finances. Venus has moved into fellow Cardinal sign, Libra, where she's in much better shape than she was in Virgo. She's in dignity and in your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories and new beginnings. She could represent someone in your household, past or simply a bit of good fortunate related to your restructuring as discussed earlier regarding the Grand Trine. This opportunity won't be handed to you but will require some effort on your part. Nonetheless, it could have an inspired element to it and derive from your beliefs. If overseas travel is on your agenda it could come from that or if you have friends or relatives elsewhere in the world perhaps they'll be involved in some way. A change of direction of some sort is likely, so consider all angles and take it from there.

The Cardinal Grand Square/Cross on August 25 is somewhat of a cosmic explosion of energy. Every planet is connected with at least one other with the exception of Mars who is out there free-floating in your sign. This makes him a bit of a wildcard as far as action is concerned and makes it even more likely he'll be emotionally motivated or not know where to go. The Grand Square derived primarily from the T-square discussed earlier comprising Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus. Venus is now opposing Uranus and is squaring the other two. While this aspect pattern usually brings tension, Venus may be the mediator to figure it all out, perhaps through someone specific who is slightly more likely to be a female. She could also be the catalyst to bring everything to a head. The Grand Sextile as noted above is a bit sloppy but viable and includes six sextiles, creating an astrological hexagon. Sextile, as you may already know, usually denote opportunity, in this case the potential for six of them.

The bad news is that this combination of sextiles and oppositions also creates another aspect pattern known as a mystic rectangle which often plays out as an "either/or" situation where you can't have your cake and eat it, too. You may have to give something up in order to get what you want. For example, if you've been a stay-at-home mom you may have to go back to work to afford that new house. The Sun and Mercury are in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors and opposing Neptune. This suggests some level of conflict or the need for balance between information coming in and your existing beliefs. It may also not be accurate so examine it carefully before assimilating it. Compromise between what you're hoping for versus your creative expression may also be a factor, or perhaps it will involve your children or a romantic interest. A choice that is likely to involve some sort of sacrifice is likely. Bear in mind that this is likely to be a busy month with a lot going on. There are planets occupying 8 of the 12 signs of the zodiac which means something going on in 8 of the 12 houses that represent facets of your life. Balancing all these energies is going to be a bit of a juggling act which may reverberate through your life for quite a while to come.
