Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. The eclipse starts out the month and occurs in fellow Cardinal Sign, Cancer, also your polar sign and house of close relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and competitors. If your birthday is within a day or two of December 31 this will oppose your natal Sun, giving it even more punch. The Sun/Moon pair is also one corner of a Grand Square, an aspect pattern which typically brings a fair amount of tension and stress. As if that isn't a big enough nuisance, each party of the Grand Square resides in one of your angular houses, i.e. your 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th which comprise you, your home life, close relationships and career/reputation/status, all cornerstones of your life. Saturn, your sign ruler, is in Libra, your 10th house of career and reputation. At least he is now out of retrograde which allows progress to be made in this part of your life. For the past several months you may have felt as if you were stuck in the mud with regard to this part of your life so at least that should improve. However, this Grand Square won't be of any help until it dissipates, though gratefully that will be relatively soon. At any rate, some tension between your relationships and your career or status is expected. Pluto is still in Capricorn and if your birthday is within a day or so of December 29 he's parked directly on your natal Sun, which will over the next few years transform you life in ways you can only begin to imagine. This is not necessarily a bad thing. I can tell you that from personal experience given that my Sun is at 3 degrees Capricorn and I've had Pluto grinding away on my natal Sun for the past few years. It wasn't necessarily easy, but I'm quite content with where I am now, so hang in there. Nonetheless, for the purposes of this eclipse, you can expect some personal conflict thrown in as well, probably issues which you would rather not deal with. Last but far from least, Uranus is in Aries, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots and memories. If your home life has been filled with disruptions and disturbances lately, this is probably the cause. This lack of stability will further contribute to all that other stuff, so if things are currently not what you'd prefer, these are the energies contributing to it but the good news is that the Grand Square, at least, will break up within a week or so. There are a few positive aspects to watch for, however. Inspired thoughts with regard to improving your income or job possibilities are there for the taking which can be used to make a few adjustments or course changes. Expanding your creative efforts and confidence are also favored as you delve deeper into self-knowledge and express yourself freely. Taking action on the job will also have a favorable affect on your career or status, so in spite of the various conflicts out there some positive effects are in work as well. The Full Moon on July 15 is in your sign and will have the strongest effect on those of you with birthdays within a day or so of December 15. A Full Moon typically brings a culmination or shift to a new phase. The Grand Square has dissipated for the most part with Venus bringing favorable vibes to your relationships though there may be some conflict between them and your career/status which is still full of surprises as well as your home life. Nonetheless, developing your creativity is still favored as an extension of yourself and opportunities will come your way at work when you are willing to take action on certain ideas which will have a transformational effect. The New Moon on July 30 is in Leo, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and regeneration, shared resources and debt. This should bring something new your way in this part of your life and have a surprising effect on your home life, but in a favorable way. A change of direction at the personal level is also implied with an emphasis on learning new things which will eventually be incorporated into your belief system. Inspirational ideas will be yours for sometime to come as Neptune plods through Capricorn which you will also be able to utilize in your work. Thus, this month is a mixed bag with some challenges but also benefits which have the potential to bring some positive changes your way, sooner or later. |
