Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon on December 10 in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, is also a Lunar Eclipse, giving it significantly more influence. Gemini is your 9th house of higher learning, beliefs and expectations, religion, politics, other cultures, and long-distance travel so watch for something significant in this part of your life. This is likely to appear on the emotional plane given the fact this is a lunar eclipse whereas the solar variety is more inclined to bring events or situations your way. It is possible that the effect of this eclipse could appear before the actual eclipse or perhaps several months following it, a somewhat weird characteristic of eclipses which makes it difficult connect them with their resulting influence. Sometimes the effects are sudden and dramatic, others equally so but far enough away from the eclipse date that you've long forgotten about it. The eclipse Moon and Sun are both being squared by Mars in an aspect pattern known as a T-square. Mars is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Virgo, your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, the collective consciousness, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing, a.k.a. the Angels and Demons house. Mars in this house could signify someone trying to undermine you whom you think you can trust or it could also represent one of your self-defeating behaviors. Use your Air Sign data gathering and analysis techniques along with your objectivity to reason this one through. Given that the eclipse Sun and Moon are in your 3rd house of thoughts and ideas and your 9th house of beliefs and philosophy of life, it looks as if the majority of this is going to be on the mental and emotional plane. A three-sided conflict between those two areas and your spirituality is also possible or you may even be resisting enlightenment which conflicts with your current beliefs. Mercury is retrograde for the eclipse which insinuates that rethinking, reviewing or revising something is required. Mercury is in Sagittarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings, and local travel, further emphasizing this theme. Mercury is trining Uranus in your polar sign, Aries, your 7th house of relationships, which suggests rethinking something which relates to someone close to you or perhaps some form of rebellion or cause for estrangement from someone close to you. There is an aspect known as a triangle of potential there as well which comprises Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune. Saturn is in your sign where he is exalted and operates very nicely as his discipline and responsibility blend well with Libras fairness, balance and objectivity. If your birthday is right around October 19 Saturn is transiting your natal Sun and most likely helping you access a higher degree of self-discipline and organization. Saturn is opposing Jupiter, however, who is retrograde in Taurus, your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, sex, and intense experiences in general. Jupiter is typically expansive but while retrograde he tends to flush out ethics issues or internalize his philosophical energy toward the constituents of the house he's in. Jupiter RX in the 8th has the potential for an "Aha!" moment which changes you in a potentially dramatic manner. With Saturn in your 1st house you may be imposing a high level of discipline on someone which is unjustified and Jupiter will help you see things more clearly. Neptune's place in this triad is that of the mediator because he is in soft aspect to both Saturn and Jupiter. Neptune is in fellow Air Sign, Aquarius, your 5th house of ego development, creativity, children, romance, speculation, and entertainment. Neptune in your 5th can be very nice for inspiration in your creative endeavors. However, he can also cloud issues, push toward too much idealism or flat-out delusions. His function as mediator in this case should be favorable and bring insights you need to balance the other two issues. There is one more closed loop aspect in this eclipse to be aware of which involves the Moon, Mars and Venus, your sign ruler. The Moon and Mars are squared off as noted earlier and comprise a conflict between your beliefs or other 9th house matter and something in your 12th, whether it is of a spiritual nature, a hidden enemy, or self-defeating behavior. Your buddy, Venus, is trining Mars which improves communications between the sexes for one thing. She is in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, however, so may be squaring your natal Sun if your birthday is right around October 10. Capricorn is your 4th house of memories, cultural roots, home environment and endings. If there is something from your past, particularly as it relates to your home, which needs some insights this can help bring that about. Venus by so doing can bring about a change of direction as far as your beliefs and expectations are concerned. The New Moon on December 24 is in Capricorn which may be an appropriate follow-up to the above situation. The triangle of potential between Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune is still in place, however, since these outer planets move slowly. Thus, this may still not be entirely resolved. Jupiter is stationing direct at this time, however, which will help bring all that philosophizing to your conscious mind and effect a transformation. The New Moon is trining Jupiter, further empowering this eventuality. The New Moon is squaring Uranus, however, indicating that whatever appears on the home front or in memory is still in conflict with something in your 7th of relationships. Conversely, an unexpected event associated with someone you know well may stir up some issues at home or with your memories. Venus has moved into Aquarius by this time which will enhance your 5th house such as your creativity, children, romance, entertainment and so forth. She is squaring Jupiter, however, which could also mean that Venus is reinforcing your ego which is resisting the lessons Jupiter is trying to help you learn. All of this implies that you are struggling with something on the mental, philosophical and spiritual level which needs to be resolved. Try to call upon your Air Sign objectivity to sort things out in the most reasonable way. |
