Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse which occurs in Gemini, your 11th house of friends, organizations, groups, networking and goals.  This essentially puts this lunation on steroids as far as impact which is most likely to appear on the emotional plane anytime from before the actually eclipse to several months after.  This, of course, makes it much more difficult to connect the eclipse to what it brought about.  This family of eclipses tends to relate to confusion in relationships so if that is something you're currently dealing with then it will probably become more apparent.  Mars in Virgo, your 2nd house of income, finances, needs and pleasures, is forming a T-square with the Sun and Moon which complicates things even more.  In other words Mars is squaring both the Sun in Sagittarius, your 5th house of ego development, creativity, children, entertainment, romance and speculation as well as the Moon in your 11th.  With Mars in your house of income squared off with these two areas you will more than likely be making some choices between them.  For example, you may have to choose between something you want to do, perhaps with your friends, and doing something with your children.  Or perhaps it involves a creative endeavor which necessitates less socializing.  Leos typically like to be the center of attention and this could put that at risk where you are somewhat lost in the crowd, perhaps because you're short on cash.  Do the mix and match routine to figure out which areas of these three houses are issues, which shouldn't be too difficult.

Mercury is retrograde in fellow Fire Sign, Sagittarius, for this eclipse which provides the need for revising or reconsidering something.  This may even be the root cause of that dilemma, whatever it is.  Mercury rules your 2nd house of finances as well as your 11th of friends so reviewing these two areas of your life is advised.  Uranus is in fellow Fire Sign, Aries and in a trine with Mercury, suggesting an unexpected event which could relate to your beliefs and expectations, religious or political philosophies, higher learning, other cultures or even long-distance travel.  Uranus can also demand freedom and breaking free from something holding you back.  This trine has additional meaning for Leos because for those of you born between July 23, - 28 it will for a Grand Fire trine with your natal Sun, making it even more significant.  This will be a harmonious flow of energy, however, which should bring some interesting information your way.

There are two other closed loops in the eclipse worth mentioning.  There is one known as a triangle of potential which comprises Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune.  Jupiter is retrograde in your 10th house of career, status, reputation and public image.  Jupiter retrograde can flush out ethics issues or may simply turn his expansive energy inward to philosophical concerns.  Jupiter is opposing Saturn in Libra, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and local travel.  Saturn is exalted in Libra which brings out the positive side of his organizational abilities, self-discipline and responsibility.  However, in some way these two areas are in a tug-o-war or faced off.  The third member of this triad, Neptune, may be the key to solving this, however.  Neptune is in Aquarius, your opposing sign which includes your 7th house of close relationships, and in favorable aspect to the other two planets, positioning him as a mediator.  The 7th house includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business partners, competitors and business professionals with whom you interact on a one on one basis.  Someone in that part of your life can provide the inspiration you need to deal with those other issues.

Another closed loop includes the Moon, Mars and Venus.  The conflict between your goals or friends and your finances was already mentioned earlier.  In this case Venus may be the planet to help out with that situation.  Venus is in Capricorn, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets.  This is a favorable placement for recognition at work and impressing your colleagues.  Her trine with Mars suggests also that a bonus or raise at work may bring some relief for those financial woes.  That, in turn, can effect a change of direction or adjustment related to your goals or friends and the situation with them.  For example, if you typically like to throw a big holiday party but can't quite afford it, maybe you'll get a bonus which allows you to do so.

The New Moon on December 24 is in Capricorn, your 6th house of work as noted above.  This should bring something new your way in that part of your life.  It may represent an entirely new direction if your birthday is right around July 26.  The triangle of potential between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune is still in effect, implying that whatever situation that represents isn't quite solved as yet.  The New Moon trines Jupiter, who is stationing direct which will release the conclusions of the philosophizing he's been doing the past few months with regard to your career.  The New Moon is squaring Uranus, however, which could bring an upset or something unexpected to your 9th house of beliefs and expectations or something else in that part of your life.  Venus has now moved into Aquarius, your 7th house of relationships, and is throwing a square to Jupiter, which implies a conflict between a relationship and your career.  Of course this is not terribly unusual for those who have to work for a living.  Jupiter is stationing direct at this time as noted above which should release a few new beliefs.  Jupiter and Venus are both considered benefic planets so even in a square they don't usually cause too much trouble.  They may tend to make you over-confident or arrogant, however, so put the brakes on your ego so you don't mess anything up careerwise.  Venus in the 7th is good for relationships so this square may simply mean your career has you so busy this time of year you don't have time for the people you care about the most.  Put Saturn to work in your house of thought to figure out how to find the proper balance that keeps everyone happy during what should be a joyous time of year.
