Lunations and Long-term Aspects The first thing you need to note about this month is that Mercury is going to be retrograde again for the majority of the month. As you probably already know, this is NOT the time to buy anything electronic or mechanical, which you may be doing as part of any back-to-school preparations. Considering that Mercury slows down before he actually goes into reverse, even the first few days are questionable and after that, the shadow period lasts until September 10, making it best to wait until then, if at all possible, before buying anything that fits that description. If your car dies, you'd really be better off renting one; if your washer or dryer dies, do to the laundromat. Last year my fridge died during a Mercury RX period and I lived out of an ice chest for over two weeks. A few days after he went direct I bought a new one and while it basically works, it sounds as if it's haunted and things like the freezer handle have a propensity to fall off every now and then. So consider yourself warned. Those of you born right around October 7th are experiencing a Saturn transit to your natal Sun. Given that Saturn is exalted in Libra this will be less onerous than his transits can be in some of the other signs. In other words, his positive manifestation will be more apparent which involves discipline, responsibility, ambition and structure. This is an excellent time to put together personal plans and set them in motion. As a Cardinal Sign Libras can usually get started on something anyway and this will give you an extra boost. The Full Moon this month is on August 13th in fellow Air Sign, Aquarius, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. This will bring a culmination, ending or phase shift to something in this part of your life. If your birthday is within a day or so of October 14th this will be more noticeable. Watch for an opportunity that comes through a friend or any group affiliations you have that involves this part of your life. It could also present an opportunity to pursue one of your goals. There are some challenges out there, however, which will affect those of you the most who have birthdays between September 27 - October 1. Someone close to you could cause an upset or be involved in an unexpected event which reverberates through other parts of your life such as your home life and career. Your career ambitions are strong with Mars in Cancer, but may encounter some opposition from the home front which may all center around one particular individual or you efforts to get away from him or her. On the positive side, any transformations as the result of finishing something or eliminating unneeded situations can provide a new view of life. The New Moon on August 28 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Virgo, your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, inspiration, institutions, confinement, seclusion, hidden enemies and self-undoing. This "woo-woo" house is a mixed bag of angels and demons that operates behind the scenes yet writes much of the script of your life. Conflicts with regard to your career are possible or you may have difficulty moving forward in a structured way. Use your inherent ability to weigh information in an objective way to avoid any self-imposed delusions. On the favorable side, this lunation carries several aspects which have a positive spin. While that unexpected event or disruption may have caused a change of course it will have a favorable effect. A transformation of fairly major proportions is possible which could bring inspiration or enlightenment in a way that will be very beneficial. Transformations relative to your home life or perhaps ending one phase of your life and beginning a new one will also have an inspirational effect which can change your outlook on life in a favorable way. Breaking free from something or someonemay present a challenge if you're clinging too much to the past. Willingness to evolve and transform can be very liberating when you feel as if you're stuck in the mud. |
