This month the New Moon is on October 7th in your 1st house of personality and outward appearance. Thus, this lunation should bring something your way on a personal level. If your birthday is within a day or so of October 8th this will have more impact, but it will affect all Libras in some way or another. With the Sun in your sign most of the month it is your time to shine. Saturn and Mercury are in Libra as well which gives a more serious tone to its effects. Saturn is well-placed in Libra, where his discipline and authority are balanced and fair so his boundaries are less restrictive. Nonetheless, Saturn is known as the King of Karma and often is the author of hard lessons. Mercury is likely to bring news, information or thoughts your way, so perhaps you need to be thinking about your responsibilities and obligations or any self-imposed limitations that may be holding you back from something.

Mars and Venus are conjunct in passionate Scorpio, your 2nd House of finances, income, possessions, needs, pleasures and what you value, including your self-esteem. Clearly there are sexual connotations here which you can use as you see fit. Also note, however, that Mars is a terrific motivator and is in friendly territory in Scorpio, which he ruled anciently, implying it's a favorable time to take action with something in this part of your life. Venus not only rules relationships as well as your Sign but finances as well, so she is also in fairly good shape in your 2nd House where she is accidentally dignified. Thus, this couple could also relate to taking action with a financial matter or perhaps even doing something you want to relax.

Pluto is in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, where he is now hunkered down for the long haul since he won't be backing into Sagittarius any more during his retrograde periods. This is your 4th House of home environment, memories, and family history. Pluto is the self-appointed cosmic roto-rooter who goes around digging things up that require attention. Thus, anything you've swept under the rug hoping to ignore is probably going to get your attention during this period which will go on for literally years. This can be a good thing as getting rid of old baggage, settling old disputes, and eliminating things you no longer need, such as cleaning out the attic and/or garage, will simplify your life. Pluto is also in a loose but viable square with Mercury, implying that whatever news or information comes your way is going to awaken old issues of some description. Pluto is also squaring, again somewhat sloppily, Jupiter and Uranus which are conjunct in Pisces, your 6th House of work, service, health and pets.

Jupiter and Uranus have been known to bring windfalls, so you can always hope that something good will come your way in this part of your life such as a promotion, raise or a new work assignment that you'll truly love. Note, however, that they're both retrograde, internalizing their energy, so their behavior will be slightly different. When retrograde Jupiter tends toward ethics issues or examining your belief system which in your 6th House will relate to work. This may involve you or someone else. In other words, if you've done anything underhanded it may be exposed and likewise if the perpetrator is someone else. This is implied by Pluto's involvement. Whatever the situation happens to be, it's going to stir things up a bit.

The Full Moon on October 22 is in your polar sign, Aries, your 7th House of relationships. This is the second Full Moon this year in this sign, giving it more emphasis. If your birthday is this day its effects will be with you all year long through your Solar Return. Pluto, however, is mitigating this lunation through an aspect pattern known as a Triangle of Potential. This insinuates that resolving some old issue with regard to your family will put this Full Moon's effect to good use. Remember that a Full Moon brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase. There are some financial influences here as well with one caution to not be too idealistic or creative with your expenditures or speculations. Nonetheless, now is when some good can come your way with regard to that work shake-up that surfaced with the New Moon. A change of course will be required, but it's very likely to be beneficial and bring you something that may feed your ego.

Short-term and Daily Aspects

October 1: Something serious will get your attention today that deserves your undivided attention. A change of course is indicated which relates to being enlightened with regard to something that involves your ego. A hint of that ethics issue at work is likely to surface as well.

October 2: Disruptions or unexpected events at work or with your health are possible as something previously known comes to light.

October 3: Your Sign Ruler, Venus, is exactly conjunct Mars. See the explanation for this one above in the description of the New Moon. Mercury enters your Sign, which will enhance your ability to communicate and present your thoughts.

October 4: Unexpected financial issues may erupt today with regard to your work. Issues that affect your ego one way or the other could arise as well.

October 5: Something from your past or related to your home or family may occupy your mind today. More surprises or disruptions related to your job or income are also likely.

October 6: Annoyances and irritations about money or your valuables will continue to occupy your mind.

October 7: New Moon in Libra today as described above.

October 8: Venus goes retrograde today until November 17. This is going to relate to your finances, spending habits, how you meet your needs or relax in one way or another. Your sense of responsibility will be highlighted in some manner today as well. Don't be too idealistic with regard to what's going on at work.

October 9: Avoid being delusional with yourself, especially in a defensive manner. Self-deception never gets you anywhere.

October 10: Thoughts about money or your possessions will have some irritating angles today.

October 11: If you have poor spending habits, look to your upbringing for clues. As you examine your budget you may discover that you really need to put off buying something you wanted.

October 13: Work will have some surprises again today with possibly financial implications.

October 15: Annoying news is likely, again related to either money or something else you value or want.

October 17: Take a close, objective look at your thoughts and ideas and whether they're working for you or not. Some adjustments or a course change is required with regard to that work situation.

October 18: Don't believe everything you hear today or deceive yourself by being unrealistic. Look at that ethics or beliefs issue clearly and make sure you have all the facts you need to draw an accurate conclusion.

October 19: More disruptive information may come out today. Again, give it a sanity check and avoid fantasizing.
