Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month is also a Solar Eclipse that occurs in your cosmic nextdoor neighbor, Cancer, which is your 2nd House of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures.  Since Cancer is in a semi-sextile position from Gemini this lunation could manifest as an irritation or annoyance that hits your bank account (or credit card).  Looking at the other aspects accompanying the eclipse should provide a few clues with regard to what it might be as well as other themes for this month.  Remember than an eclipse can manifest before it actually happens and often lingers on for a while.  As a Solar Eclipse this one is likely to bring external events whereas the Lunar Eclipse last month would most likely bring something on a more internal or emotional level.  Both June's and this one are members of the 12 South family of the Saros Series and thus have the same theme, which is that something that has been bothering you for quite some time will temporarily get worse and then it will clear.   You may not get to pick exactly what this is, but something should improve which is always good news.

The most obvious aspect with this lunation is the T-Square that comprises Saturn, Pluto and the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction.  Saturn is in Virgo, your 4th House of home environment, implying some restructuring is in-work there.  Pluto is in Capricorn, your 8th House of transformations, debt, sex, death and regeneration, inheritances and shared resources, which means some major renovations are going on in that area as well.  The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction, which will be in effect for the better part of this year, is in lively and impulsive Aries, your 11th House of friends, organizations and goals.  This suggests that there will be numerous surprises, sudden changes, and widening of your circle of friends and goals.  While a T-square suggests there will be some conflicts and challenges with juggling all these influences, overall this looks like a very positive time.

The Sun/Moon combo is sextile Mars, also in Virgo, your aforementioned 4th House of home environment.  This should bring an opportunity of some description, perhaps to improve your home, though this probably will cost you some money, though not necessarily in a bad way.  For example if your air conditioner goes out in the middle of July, which is typically when this will happen, it's inconvenient and a big ticket item, but a new unit will be more efficient, keep your place cooler for less money, and be beneficial in the long run.  However, if you have something like a broken sewer line, that is going to cost you some serious bucks as well, but in return you get a torn up yard and a toilet that flushes properly, which is somehow no where's near as rewarding as a new air conditioner.  Capesche?

You need to keep an eye on Mars in the 4th and use that energy in a positive way.  It's definitely a time to be careful with such things as the barbecue pit or anything else that might be liable to start a fire.   Mars is drive and energy, however, so put it to work in positive ways getting all those unfinished projects (or at least some of them) out of the way.  With Saturn, Mars and Venus all in Virgo you can expect a lot to be going on at home, which can operate on both the mental/emotional and physical planes.  Saturn and Mars can help you "gitter done" and Venus can bring good times with friends and family.

Venus is quite well-aspected so she is spreading her blessings around.  Her trine to Pluto suggests some positive processing of events from the past that have been cluttering up your mental and emotional landscapes for quite some time.  These are likely to involve family members (they usually do) and this bodes well for resolving them.  She is opposing Retrograde Neptune in Aquarius, your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, beliefs & expectations, relocation, other cultures and foreign travel.  While retrograde Neptune can incline you toward being too idealistic.  Neptune is also known to create delusions, illusions, and generally fog things over though his positive influences can include inspiration and enlightenment.  Put this energy into your 9th House and there's no telling how that may come out.  For example, you may dream of traveling around the world in a kayak, which will definitely cause a few conflicts on the homefront, even though it would be the experience of a lifetime.  Neptune is conjunct Chiron, the wounded healer, however, so be a bit wary of such inclination as they're likely to bring some disappointments or hurts as well.  Maybe you want to go back to school, which would be pretty typical Gemini behavior, but your significant other thinks you need to keep working.  Neptune could fog the issue for you where you wouldn't recognize that there simply wouldn't be enough money coming in if you indulged your fantasies.  So turn up the gain on that Air Sign logic and don't allow yourself to fall prey to pipe dreams.

Venus is also quincunx Jupiter and Uranus in your 11th House of friends, networking, organizations and goals.  As noted earlier this should bring numerous events and activities to this part of your life.  It will have an expansive effect and be largely beneficial; this aspect can actually bring nice windfalls.  However, the implication here is that this will also have its price in that it will necessitate some adjustments at home, either in the love or money category.

As long as we're on the subject of Jupiter and Uranus, they are quite involved in this eclipse as well.  They're one corner of the T-square, tied into Venus as just described and they're also trining your Sign Ruler, Mercury, who's in Leo, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors, and familiar journeys.  Of course this house if home base zodiacally for Twins and one of your favorite sports.  This will ramp up your mental activities and other 3rd House matters significantly.  The trine implies it will be harmonious and Mercury's involvement implies that a lot of the activity is going to be self-initiated since your brain is going to be on astrological steroids, as if it's not already active enough.  With Mercury quincunx Pluto, some of these ruminations are going to relate to past events that need to be rectified which will eventually have a transformational effect.  Saturn is quincunx Neptune, which can be one of the few ways these two antithetical planets can work together in a positive way.  Saturn builds up foundations and boundaries while Neptune dissolves them.  While they would normally be working against one another, in this case if there are any boundaries, restrictions or limitations in your way, particularly there at home, Neptune's inspiration can help you eliminate them.  However, proceed with a bit of caution due to Chiron.  Sometimes those retaining walls are there for a reason.

The Full Moon on July 25 is in Aquarius, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher learning and so forth as described earlier.  Twins love brain candy and learning generally, so this should be pleasant.  A Full Moon brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase, so this could herald a new stage of something in this part of your life.  The T-square that accompanied the New Moon is still in effect, except Saturn has now moved into fellow Air Sign, Libra, your 5th House of creativity, ego definition, children, romantic interests, speculations and entertainment.  While Saturn retraces his steps along the path where he was retrograde during the first several months of this year he'll be prompting you to restructure something that he was calling your attention to at a subconscious level.  Thus, look for something in that part of your life to work on.

There are two Triangles of Potential, or ToP's, with this lunation.  This aspect pattern comprises an opposition mediated by a planet between them which trines and sextiles the opposition planets, putting this planet at the apex in a position to control the opposition in a favorable manner.  This is a prime example of how you can exercise your free will and turn lemons into lemonade with a little help from your astrological friends.  One of these is directly associated with the Full Moon itself and involves the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction at the apex.  As you recall the pair is in your 11th House of friends, groups and goals.  The lunation is across the axis of your 3rd and 9th Houses which comprise a lot of mental activity and relate to how your thoughts and ideas can become incorporated into your a priori assumptions and belief systems.  If there is a conflict between them as a result of this Full Moon, then Jupiter and Uranus in your house of friends and groups can provide the assistance you need to manage the opposition.

Another ToP is formed by the Saturn/Uranus opposition and mediated by the Moon.  Thus, the two ToP's overlap and are probably related.  Saturn is about stability, structure, authority and responsibility whereas Uranus is about breaking away, freedom, the unexpected and innovation.  Clearly these two are from different parts of the Universe in their influences and could easily represent an opposition.  The Moon at the apex in your 9th House implies that this situation can be mediated by your emotions or what you feel in your heart is the right way to go.  Mercury, your Sign Ruler, and Neptune are also opposing each other for the Full Moon, another unlikely pair that easily face off with one another.  Mercury is about date; Neptune about dreams, illusions, and imagination.  This can be very useful if you can combine the two, using the inspiration to lead you to the data you need and then melding the two together.  Neptune is also quincunx, an aspect that indicates an adjustment or change of course, with Mars who's bringing that energy to your home environment.  This suggests that new, inspirational ideas will bring about some course changes at home.

Daily and Short-term Aspects

July 1:  A couple possibilities today.  One, you'll get all fired up to do something with your home that will cost money, Two, your home will inform you that something is wrong that needs to be fixed.

July 5:  Uranus goes retrograde until December 5, which will make all that action with regard to your friends, organizations, groups and goals even more erratic.

July 8:  Something is going on in your home environment that is going to bring a significant change.  Today's energy should yield a few clues to what it might be.

July 9:  Mercury goes into Leo, bringing your Sign Ruler into your House of thoughts and ideas.  Your brain has just been served an energy drink on steroids.  This is an outstanding time to do some brainstorming.

July 10:  Venus enters Virgo today, bringing her blessings to your home environment.  This could relate to your relationships, money or if you're really lucky, both.  You may need to make a few adjustments to your outside activities, however, to fully realize them.  Make a good, objective, Air Sign assessment of what your priorities are and how feasible they are financially.

July 11:  New Moon/Solar Eclipse today as described above.

July 13:  Juggling home and your goals, organizations and/or friends is requiring some changes that are going to derive from a very deep level that affects you in a life-changing manner.  Continue to scrutinize what you need to do to balance everything less precariously.

July 20:  Make sure you have all the facts if doing or planning anything that involves money.  Inspiration is out there, but don't be too idealistic unless you want to set yourself up for disappointment.  Look for a meaningful and effective alternative path.

July 21:  Saturn goes into Libra, sign of its exaltation today.  This will bring increased discipline to your creative and speculative efforts and could also bring more responsibility your way.

July 26:  This is very likely to be a significant day because there are at least five major aspects that are exact sometime today.  First of all, it will be an excellent day for pondering your thoughts and how they influence your beliefs.  Your beliefs may tend to be a bit on the idealistic side these days, which can often set you up for disappointment.  You may encounter some profound insights that change something about you in a significant way.  It's also a favorable day for pondering that situation with an organization, your friends or goals for new insights there as well.  An event or situation at home will affect your beliefs in some way and cause a few adjustments.  Increased responsibilities at home could give you a stifled feeling or inhibit you from pursuing something you want.

July 27:  Mercury enters Virgo which should enhance communications in your home and bring about a few adjustments or course changes as a result.

July 30:  Mars goes into Libra today, which should slow down the pace and help eliminate any contention you've see around home lately.  Mars' drive and energy will be well-placed in your house of creativity and speculation, though it could stir things up a bit with your children or lovers.  If there are any unresolved issues from your past, particularly your childhood, this is a positive time to work toward resolving them.  Course changes indicated in a variety of areas.  Expect some unexpected resistance or obstacles in something you want to pursue today.

July 31:  Today is an excellent day to move forward with a creative project as your energy and ambition will be enhanced.  However, make sure you're not overly aggressive or pushy, forcing your views or will on those around you.
