Lunations and Long Term Aspects Talk about long-term aspects, those of us born between December 9 - 30th will be dealing with Mercury retrograde for the coming year since that will be reflected in our solar return this month. Those of you born December 24 - 25 at least get rid of Pluto for your return chart while those with birthdays from December 26 - 28 will continue to host the little devil. Not exactly what you were hoping for as a holiday present, I'm sure, but I'm right there with you, folks. This month's New Moon on the 5th is in your nextdoor zodiacal neighbor, Sagittarius, your 12th House of angels, demons, institutions, spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration and self-undoing. If there's a house that Cappies don't particularly understand or feel comfortable with, that's it. As you can see it's an incredible mix of the good, the bad and the ugly, so no telling what it will bring. If you're an exceptionally solid Cappy you may not even notice. However, Pluto and Mercury are conjunct for the occasion, which may bring some interesting personal insights your way or even incline you toward some rather dominating behavior, particularly with regard to any group activities. You typically like to be in charge, especially if those who are don't seem competent (which is most the world from the Cappy knothole) and you may engage in a hostile takeover which could even have vengeful overtones. There are also some opportunities for useful insights with regard to action relating to your financial situation. Innovative ideas are available, but don't be too quick to share them prematurely or someone you think is your friend may take them and run. If you have any friends in high places, they may have something for you as well. The Full Moon on December 21 is also a Lunar Eclipse which occurs in Gemini, 6th House of work, health, service and pets. Lunar Eclipses operate on the emotional or internal level implying it will relate to your job or health. This eclipse is 13 North in the Saros Series which implies the involvement of groups or major group projects. A separation is possible, after which a shared achievement is possible. This, of course, ties in with that potential power play noted above with regard to the New Moon. If your birthday is right around December 23 - 25 the Lunar North Node has just passed over your Natal Sun which is highly likely to bring something new into your life to say nothing of Pluto's proximity. Mercury is retrograde, however, so this indicates this effort may not be a new endeavor but the continuance or revision of an existing one. Inspiration is available to chart this new course, so get ready to put this energy to work, challenges notwithstanding. Your Sign Ruler, Saturn, is in Libra, your 10th House of career, reputation and public image, which will give you additional ambition and discipline to tackle the tasks ahead. Short Term Aspects December 1: You can make a significant contribution to a group activity or one of your personal goals. Express yourself clearly and assertively but avoid being too forceful; likewise, watch your back in case there's anyone less than enchanted by your ambitions. December 2: Avoid being a know-it-all today or cutting off your nose to spite your face or you might lose something of value. December 3: If you come up with an innovative idea, expect someone to try and squash it, probably due to jealousy. Don't lose your cool and stay the course. December 5: You will have a tremendous amount of energy going for you today but may also be inclined toward being a bit power-hungry or domineering. This is not always a bad thing, especially for a Cappy, but make sure you don't do anything obnoxious which could hurt you later. New Moon today as described above. December 6: Uranus comes out of retrograde, which will make things a bit less hectic, at least mentally. December 7: This is a great day to gather some serious enlightenment or inspiration with regard to your career or public image. You will probably wonder how you could have missed it before, it should be so obvious. December 8: If you're moving toward that power play, you should be able to do so in a politically correct manner which doesn't upset anyone. In fact, they're likely to welcome your leadership with open arms. Mars goes into your Sign today which will further fire your ambition, but make sure you keep any aggression underwraps. December 10: Mercury goes retrograde today, which can be useful for reworking something and a pain for new endeavors. Communicating your ideas to a group is greatly favored so if there's something that needs to be revised or modified, this is an excellent time to display your leadership abilities and take the reins. December 13: Ideas on how to achieve your ambitions will be profuse, so take careful note, literally and figuratively. Your energy level will be high and your patience will be somewhat compromised, but moving forward and taking control of a situation are greatly favored. December 15: Expanding upon an existing idea or project is favored today. Brainstorming with friends or group associates is also favored. In other words, this is a good day for a meeting or gathering with regard to a common goal. December 16: Insights with regard to your ideas are likely which will help you see the way more clearly, including anything you may have missed. December 18: This is a great day for relaxing and doing something you enjoy, particularly if it's inspirational. Focus on that part of your life that you tend to ignore, given your workaholic tendencies. If you're short on ideas, get in touch with a friend who will probably provide what you need. Flashes of inspiration with regard to future opportunities are just waiting for your invitation. December 19: Mercury backs into Sagittarius, facilitating more enlightenment and inspiration, particularly with regard to any work in progress that needs some revising. December 20: Expect the unexpected today, particularly around your neighborhood and during your daily commute. Everyone is largely distracted between the weather and holidays, so drive defensively. Once you're home, safe and sound, spend some time relaxing and daydreaming, which will pay off more than you realize. December 21: Full Moon in Gemini as described above. Another excellent day to get some fresh ideas, possibly big ones. The Sun goes into Capricorn later today, meaning your Solar Return is on the way. December 22: You may have a hard time staying focused today. Plan accordingly. December 23: You're likely to encounter a few annoyances today, but try to maintain the holiday spirit and let it go. December 26: Projecting power and authority will come naturally today, but if that isn't the image you want to put forth, make a conscious effort to lighten up a bit. This will be especially strong if your birthday is today plus it will be with you for the coming year as it's part of your Solar Return. It should be an interesting year ahead. December 27: Spend some time today putting together some goals for the coming year. Some of the things you come up with may come from a part of you that you tend to ignore. December 28: Another excellent day for introspection. Be sure to include some personal goals for the coming year as well, not just those which involve money or status. December 29: Conflicts with authority figures are more likely than usual today. Above all else, keep your cool. December 30: Mercury stations direct today, allowing things to move forward with fewer obstacles. If you got any electronic devices for Christmas which need to be returned, wait until at least today to do so. |
