Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month on March 4th is in Pisces, your 2nd House of possessions, finances, income, needs and pleasures, which should bring something new your way in this part of your life.  It could be as simple as buying something you've been wanting or a significant change to your income.  With Venus in your 1st House, hopefully it will be something favorable, particularly if your birthday is right around January 24.  Sooner or later this month Venus will be conjunct the Natal Sun of all Aquarians, which makes you look good if nothing else.  Pluto, however, is hunkered down in your 12th House, as he will be for several years to come.  Your 12th includes your spirituality, inspiration, enlightenment, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies, and self-undoing.  During the coming years you can expect to be examining several of these areas and eliminating certain related items or ideas, somewhat like cleaning out the attic or garage and getting rid of anything you no longer need.  For this lunation Pluto is sextile Mars in your 2nd House of possessions and such which makes for a tremendous opportunity to do exactly that, clean out a closet or any other larger area you feel like tackling.  After all, spring is nearly upon us so a cleaning frenzy of one type or another is quite appropriate.

There is a lot of energy in Pisces besides the New Moon with Mars, Mercury and Uranus all there at this time.  Your sign ruler, Uranus, is but a sneeze away from Aries and will indeed be there by the end of the month, but for the sake of this lunation he's in Pisces.  Uranus can bring various surprises, disruptions and disturbances which usually are quite unwelcome with regard to your material wealth since messing things up is more likely than something pleasant such as winning the lotto.  Before he leaves, however, you might want to use that energy to consider a few things.  Uranus is also about independence, a good thing when it comes to finances.  He's also about innovation, which can come in handy if you could use more income.  Unconventional is another keyword for this planet, so think about ways you can save money, be more self-sufficient and ultimately more secure.

Saturn is retrograde in fellow Air Sign, Libra, your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, foreign travel, other cultures, beliefs, expectations and relocation.  With Saturn doing the backstroke there is something going on in this part of your life but it's likely to be beneath your radar at the present time.  If your birthday lies between February 3rd - 7th at some point this month Saturn will trine your Natal Sun, making it an excellent time to give some conscious consideration to this part of your life and what you want.  Saturn retrograde is all about restructuring something so you may as well start figuring out what that might be so that when he goes direct in a few months you can take appropriate action.  Saturn RX is great for instituting delays, so don't plan on moving forward anytime soon, but making a few plans never hurts.  Thus, if you're planning to go back to school, move, pursue a legal issue, travel abroad or simply need to perform a major overhaul on some of your beliefs and expectations, whether they be political or religious, give it some thought.  Saturn ruled Aquarius before Uranus was discovered, so this energy should feel relatively comfortable.  The New Moon is quincunx Saturn as well, a rather uncomfortable aspect also known as an inconjunct.  Thus you should definitely be looking at your finances and material possessions for some area you can improve by doing something differently.

Jupiter is settled into Aries until mid-May, bringing his luck and expansive energy to your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short or familiar journeys.  You may find yourself running lots of errands during this time or deeply involved with those who live around you or your brothers and sisters.  You can use this energy on the mental plane as well, expanding upon any good ideas you've been entertaining lately.  If your birthday is between January 28 - February 4 Jupiter will sextile your Natal Sun sometime this month, giving you an extra boost.  Jupiter is separating from a square to Pluto, an aspect which would have given you a nudge or two to let go of any old hang-ups that were holding you back  or clouding your thinking.

The Full Moon on March 19 is in Virgo, your 8th House of transformations, intimate sex (as opposed to recreational sex), death and regeneration, shared resources, debt and as we're all too aware this time of year, at least in the United States, taxes.  If your birthday is right around February 18 you are more likely to feel the effects and recognize the need to change direction or adjust any strategies that relate to this part of your life, especially if you have been delusional or unrealistic.  Inspiration is possible as well, but don't mistake it for reality, which could be far removed from any visions you may encounter.  This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just recognize it for what it is.  As an Air Sign you are endowed with a reasonable amount of logic by nature, so put it to work.

At this time Uranus, Jupiter and Mercury are all in Aries, making this a tremendous time for mental activity, running errands, doing chores, and socializing with neighbors.  The latter two are opposing Saturn, however, so if you are pursuing a new idea and trying to get it off the ground you can expect some resistance.  You are probably missing or not considering something, so think about what it might be.  At the end of March Mercury goes retrograde again which will also be a time for reviewing and reconsidering as opposed to moving forward.

The Moon is opposing the Sun (of course since it's a Full Moon) as well as Uranus, which can stir things up a bit as well.  This introduces an emotional element and instability so if you are feeling a bit nervous or out of sorts at this time, this is why.  You may also discover that your heart isn't engaged with something even though you've been trying to talk yourself into it.  If anything fits that description in your life, give it a good, hard look.
