Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. This eclipse occurs in Cancer, your 6th House of work, service and health and will bring a shift of direction or perhaps a Catch-22 situation, especially for those of you with a birthday within a day or so of January 30. The eclipse represents one corner of a Grand Square which typically isn't exactly an enjoyable aspect but the good news is that the planets involved are in a slightly better aspect to your Natal sun, giving you a bit more say in the matter.

Your modern sign ruler, Uranus holds another corner which can bring innovative or original thoughts and ideas which may also come via a neighbor or sibling. There could also be some surprising or unexpected events involving these same people, but they will represent an opportunity if you're paying attention. Saturn is another participant in your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, other cultures, long-distance travel, religion and politics. Saturn is all about structure, restrictions, boundaries, responsibility and fun things like that. Saturn is also your traditional ruler who thus plays a significant role in your life and is what makes you the hardworking individual you are. Saturn's work in this venue is encountering some resistance from these other planets and the eclipse, however, but since he's trining your sign and particularly strong for those of you born right around January 31st, again this is going to work to your advantage at some point as you take creative action. In other words, you will be one of those people who can take all the trouble and problems that are out there these days and milk something out of it, kind of like the construction industry is bound to benefit from all the natural disasters out there these days.

Neptune in your 2nd house of income and possessions can bring significant luck, especially considering the trine coming his way from Venus in your house of work. Neptune can be a big financial help provided you don't behave in an unrealistic way with your resources. News or information relative to your job is going to bring about a change of direction with your finances as well.

The Full Moon on July 15 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Capricorn, your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, institutions, confinement, seclusion, hidden enemies and self-undoing. This is quite the angels and demons house and with Pluto transiting that neighborhood for many years to come you can expect a variety of revelations from this part of your life. Pluto, the zodiacal roto-rooter will be digging around and exposing anything that needs to be cleaned up which ultimately clears the way for greater progress. A Full Moon brings a culmination or shift to a new phase which will relate somehow to this part of your life. The tug-o-war between conventional beliefs and innovative and original thinking is still in force, but will gradually fade. Conversations with one or more people close to you will bring opportunities for you to take action on a creative project, a new romance, doing something with your kids or expressing yourself. Responsibilities at work may be challenging or perhaps your boss will be a bigger nuisance than usual, but this shouldn't last long so be patient.

The New Moon on July 30 is in your polar sign, Leo, your 7th house of close relationships which includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business partners and competitors. If your birthday is within a day or so of January 28th this will have a stronger effect. Nonetheless, this lunation is a bit friendlier than the ones preceding it. Uranus, your modern ruler, is trining the Sun/Moon as well as Venus, natural ruler of love and money, from your 3rd house of thought, ideas, neighbors and siblings, making a positive connection of some sort between these two parts of your life. Perhaps a friend or neighbor will unexpectedly introduce you to someone new and exciting. This even may have a slightly detrimental effect on your expectations for your home life, but shouldn't present a major problem. A change of direction is again indicated which relates to something in your woo-woo angels and demons house as defined above. News is coming as well which will result in a transformation though it may cause some conflict with your finances in some way. Figuring out what you really want, especially with regard to your home life, is favored, which will assist you with various decisions. This month will be busy but interesting so maintain your optimism and in-born detachment as you figure out what it all means.
