Your ruler, the Sun, will be in fellow Fixed Sign, Taurus, until the 21st.  This will throw some light on your Natural 10th House, which covers your career and reputation.  Mercury is there as well, enhancing your communication skills and any ideas you may have along those lines.  The New Moon, which occurs there on the 16th, could easily herald a new beginning of some sort, so if this has not already manifested itself, pay attention and make sure you're not missing something.  Opportunities seldom come on a silver platter; we need to put forth the effort to claim them.

The Full Moon on the 2nd is in fellow Fixed Sign, Scorpio.  This will throw some light on your home environment and could indicate a culmination of some sort there or possibly the ending of one phase and beginning of another.  This may come with some degree of conflict, especially for those whose birthday falls between May 1-5.  Perhaps you'll finally finish up a remodeling project of some kind or perhaps resolve an issue relative to home vs. career.

You may have noticed a damping effect of some sort in Natural 5th House matters such as your children, love life and creative endeavors the past several weeks.  This could very well be grating on you a bit since the 5th House is the universal Zodiacal residence for Leo's.  These things are near and dear to your heart and any problems in this area will be heart-felt.  It won't necessarily be problems per se, but perhaps a close examination of your priorities and values in this area.  You can blame any subconscious rumblings along these lines on retrograde Jupiter and Pluto, who will direct attention to your ethics and any hidden elements or past events that require rejuvenation.  This will be in progress over several months so rest assured that improvements in these areas, most likely self-imposed, will be coming down the pike in the months to come.  The second Full Moon this month on the 31st, commonly called a Blue Moon, will also be in this same venue, indicating the culmination of something or at the last an ending of one phase.

While we're on the subject of retrograde planets, Neptune, who goes retrograde on the 25th, could throw some internal rumblings toward your relationships on both the business and personal level.  Be careful not to impose too much idealism on others and make sure your expectations are realistic.  Those born around August 15-19 need to be especially careful and not fall for every bit of flattery (which you love) that comes along.  Those of you who may currently be unattached may think you've found the perfect partner, but reserve judgment and don't make any commitments without careful consideration. 

Changes in your intimate relationships or in areas such as borrowed money [for example an escalation in your mortgage interest rate if you have an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM)] have probably been going on for quite a while.  In fact, you probably just think that's how your life goes.  You can blame Uranus for that and since as a Fixed Sign you don't especially like change and this is a sensitive area for you, any disruptions or upsets have a strong impact.  It's probably not much consolation if you're struggling with something in this area of your life, but this is the kind of thing that builds character and understanding. Something could happen in this area around the first of the month, so expect the unexpected.

Good news the month includes the fact that after May 8th Venus will be spending the month in your Natural 12th House, which embodies your spiritual nature and sources of inspiration.   This should bode well for some positive experiences and feeling somewhat at peace, in spite of any challenges you may be facing.

The latter half of the month Mars is occupying his homebase in fellow Fire Sign, Aries.  Aries is your Natural 9th House, which encompasses higher education, long distance travel, legal matters, ceremonies, and so forth.  Expect to see a lot of energy and activity in one or more of these areas, most likely of a positive nature.

This month is one in which you need to keep your eyes open, both for opportunities and alligators in the water.  Don't believe everything you hear, but don't automatically discount it, either.  Just do your homework and you should be satisfied with the ultimate outcome.
