The New Moon is on the 18th will be in favorable aspect in Capricorn, your Natural 9th House, particularly for those born May 3-13 and especially May 8th.   This is likely to bring about some new opportunities in higher education, legal matters, long distance travel or perhaps just something will have a positive effect on your philosophy of life.  This will be a busy House this month for you generally since the month begins with a stellium (i.e. two planets plus the Sun) in Capricorn.  The Sun will bring emphasis to this area, Mercury will encourage and enhance related communications, and your ruling planet, Venus, should push the odds in your favor, no matter what the issue might be.  Venus is only there until the 4th, however, so if you really need a bit of help from Lady Luck try to take care of it before then.  Mars enters on the 17th and since it's in Trine aspect it should give you an energy boost as opposed to plain ol' opposition.

By the second half of the month that stellium will join Neptune in Aquarius.  This will bring some attention to career, community status/reputation, and government establishment issues.  The aspect now isn't quite as favorable as when it was in Capricorn, however, so you may run into a speed bump or two in these areas.  For example, if you're enrolled in school you may find the admissions office lost all record that you pre-registered for your classes and you'll have to dig out your receipt or other evidence to prove it and hope they'll still let you in.  If you have to go to court for a traffic ticket or something, see if you can get it postponed until next month since in this case, Lady Luck is NOT smiling at you.  Especially with Neptune there, things are likely to be confused and generally messed up. 

Career-wise is about the same.  If you're trying for a promotion, working on a special project or simply trying to find employment, this may not be the best time for you.  In other words, anything that involves an authority figure is probably not going to go particularly well; the only hope you have is that your ruling planet, Venus, is there doing everything she possibly can, at least until the 28th.  I'm not saying to give up and stay in bed the last two weeks of January, which is something I'm sure Bulls would enjoy, but don't expect everything to go smoothly, either.  Remember the Boy Scout motto to "Be Prepared" and you'll definitely fare better than if you're blindsided.

While your 10th House probably isn't going to be the high point of your month, there are some interesting long-term effects brewing over there in the 8th.  While you may have to justify any actions on your part, nonetheless there's the potential for an investment opportunity, regeneration in an intimate relationship or possibly an inheritance.  Mars is there until the 17th, so be a bit more cautious than usual as far as accidents are concerned.  As a Fixed sign you may want to cling to the status quo, but try to be as open minded as possible as you may like the change.  Along similar lines, Uranus in your Natural 11th House of group activities and hopes/wishes is in positive aspect, especially for those born the first week of May.  This will be further enhanced when Venus moves into that neighborhood on the 28th.  Keep an eye out for opportunities, new friends or possibly some plain old-fashioned good luck.

Saturn is retrograde in your Natural 4th House which covers your home environment, both past and present.  For those born May 11-17th you may have a general sense of unrest that something isn't quite right in this area as Saturn nags away at something in your subconscious.  This will go on until April 20th or so at which time you're likely to have a big Aha! moment and know what you need to do, which you'll probably have in work by the end of July.

This won't exactly be the best month of the year for you but it's not anything you can't handle, either, so just put your ducks in a row, muster some of that Taurean determination and put one foot in front of the other until you get to higher ground.
