August 2007 Astrocast

Key Events:

New Moon: 8/12/2007

Full Moon: 8/28/2007/Eclipse

Jupiter Direct:  8/06/2007

Other RX Planets:  Venus, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto

This month will see a lot of action in Leo, your Natural 2nd House, which governs your possessions, finances, comforts and pleasures.  The Sun is there until the 24th; Mercury is there between August 5 - 20; the New Moon is there on the 12th; Saturn has been there for a long time; and Venus will back in via retrograde (RX) motion on the 10th.  That's a lot of energy that shows up in a wide variety of ways.

The Sun brings attention and emphasis to whatever sign he's occupying.  If it's an area of your life that you've been neglecting, chances are when the Sun is there it will be emphasized in some way or another.  Mercury facilitates communications and mental activity as well as ruling such things as mechanical devices, i.e. anything with moving parts that must work together in an orderly manner.  This is why Mercury retrograde messes these things up, because the energy is internalized and often inhibits them from operating properly.  Thus, this is a good time to maintain or repair anything that needs it, since Mercury will be encouraging it to work correctly.

The New Moon usually heralds a new beginning or phase.  In this house that could mean numerous things from a major purchase, new commitment to handle your finances differently, a vow to take better care of yourself by relaxing more, or any number of things.  Saturn imposes structure and discipline wherever he travels, so it's likely that you've had to learn how to manage your finances, take care of your possessions, or budget your time to allow for renewing yourself physically and mentally.  It's worth noting that Saturn will move into Virgo on September 3ard, which essentially means his work here is done.  Hopefully whatever you were supposed to learn from that transit it accomplished, because when he moves on the lessons will be directed more toward your mental processes.

Venus RX internalizes our thoughts relative to relationships and/or finances.  Since she's in your 2nd House, her influence will most likely direct your introspections toward your money management skills or lack thereof.  Usually Cancers are pretty frugal, though they might indulge in an emotional purchase once in a while and they can also justify just about anything that makes their home more comfortable.  At any rate, you need to consider where you are on the financial spectrum and where all these other influences seems to be pointing.

Jupiter in Sagittarius, your Natural 6th House of work, health and pets, comes out of RX on the 7th.  During the RX period you may have been giving a lot of consideration to the situation in your workplace relative to ethics and how that jives or fails to jive with your personal belief system.  Maybe there is nothing really wrong with the people you work with, but perhaps you would like to direct your efforts toward something that gives you more emotional satisfaction or meaning in life.  Now that Jupiter has gone direct, this energy will change and should expand or escalate your opportunities to move in the direction you'd like to go.  Decide what your goal happens to be, then take steps in that direction.  There's a good chance that Jupiter, the great benefic, will throw a bit of luck your way.  The will be particularly applicable if you birthday is between June 28 - July 4.

Pluto has also been in your 6th House for quite a while and isn't leaving anytime soon.  Pluto tends to unearth all sorts of things, and you may have found yourself discovering all sorts of things in the work place of which you were previously unaware.  Whether or not these things were corrupt or illegal are a moot point; you still have been discovering things that you never knew.  Pluto's primary function is transformation, and perhaps the lesson in this is to demonstrate that what is going on around you really isn't what you want to do for the rest of your life.  There is still about six months left of this transit and by the time Pluto moves into Capricorn you will have probably figured this out.

The Full Moon on the 28th occurs in fellow Water Sign, Pisces, your Natural 9th House of higher education, long distance travel and legal matters.  This Full Moon has more impact than most because it also involves an eclipse.  Since they also usually indicate a culmination of some sort, more than likely something will come to a close in one of these areas.  It won't necessarily be Earth-shattering, but is likely to be something that you're been considering, thinking about, or working on since around the March timeframe.

Mars starts the month in Taurus, your Natural 11th House of groups, organizations, hopes and wishes, lending a bit of energy in that direction.  Use it for what it's worth to get anything done that you'd like to accomplish in one or more of those areas.  He moves into Gemini on the 8th, entering your 12th House of spirituality, transcendence and the collective consciousness.  Of course Mars in this House bears remarkable similarities to a bull in a china shop.  You may have a sudden burst of energy relative to finding Nirvana, which is likely to manifest itself in a sudden interest in gathering data about where it is and how to get there.  If you don't have a secure spiritual home, you may decide to start looking.  If you do, more than likely the answer will find you in a remarkably short period of time.

This month is likely to be one that slips into the next without any profound thoughts or memories.  Determining your financial situation and direction would be useful and there could also be some activity relative to your job.  Generally, it sounds like a good month for planning, balancing the checkbook, and thinking about whether looking forward to another life might make this one a bit easier.
